Why are we free?

Auckland Free Walking Tours is really, truly a social enterprise, which means we really, truly do this because we’re just that passionate about showing visitors our weird and wonderful city. That’s what inspired the creation of AFWT, and that’s what our motivation will always be.

But we do also live in the real world, with real running costs, and real tour guides to compensate. To make these ends meet, AFWT does encourage all our happy walkers to offer their guide a ‘koha’ (gift, donation, contribution) at the end of the tour. Your koha will go directly back into our collective, so that our awesome guides to keep showing off our awesome city.
